Louisiana's insurance commissioner's race may be the most contested campaign outside of the governor's race after Republican Tim Temple invested $1 million of his own money to challenge four-term incumbent Republican Jim Donelon.
Scandal-free Republican statewide incumbents are generally considered bullet-proof in Louisiana, but as one GOP campaign consultant said during qualifying, "You have to take anybody who's willing to spend $1 million on a down-ballot race seriously." Read more...
